ARE YOU UNDER AGE 16 AND DID YOU SUBMIT A MILITARY OPT OUT NOTICE? - If you are under the age of 16, and submitted a Military Opt Out Notice on the District Form, your wish to opt out of having your identifying information released to the military may not be implemented. You are not legally able to opt out without parent signature until you are 16 years old. Check with your parents or with our registrar in room 101C to see if your parents submitted the FERPA opt out form that was in the "first day packets" on your behalf. If not, you will want to make sure they do so--the form is available on the District website, www.seattleschools.org, and needs to be turned in to our registrar BEFORE 10/19/07. We apologize for any confusion and inconvenience caused by the lack of accurate information about the age limit on the District form.
