First-ever trip of RHS Girls' Cross Country Team to State this coming weekend! The team and three individuals qualified at the District meet on Saturday... and two of the boys are going to State, too.

COUNSELING/CAREER CENTER

PLAN TEST - This practice test for the ACT is available to all sophomores and all sophomores are strongly encouraged to participate. It is an excellent way to prepare for college entrance exams and to continue sorting out career interests. The PLAN will be administered November 7th in the Roosevelt theatre 1st through 3rd periods. You can sign up in the bookroom Nov 6th before school and during both lunches. The cost is $10.00. Fee waivers can be obtained from your counselor. F.Heffernan

TURNING OUT FOR A WINTER SPORT? PLAN AHEAD! – Athletic packets must be returned to the Main Office by noon Friday, November 9th in order to tryout for a sport Monday, November 12th. Students who turn in packets after that time will have to wait until November 13th to tryout. Do not turn in packets to your coach. The Main Office will be closed Monday, November 12th. R.Olson

HAVE YOU PAID YOUR FEES FOR WINTER SPORTS? – The Fiscal Office will be open this week Tuesday and Thursday only to take care of athletic fees, fines and purchase activity cards. All of these need to be taken care of before you turn in your athletic paper work. The Fiscal Office hours are before school and during both lunches. R.Olson

GIRLS BASKETBALL TRYOUTS – Monday, November 12th in the gym. New players at 2:30 – 5:00 p.m., returning players at 2:30 – 7:15 p.m. You must turn in your athletic packet to the Main Office by noon, Friday, Nov. 9th.

SECOND BROWN BAG DINNER WORKSHOP - “The School Library in the Electronic Age” Part II will take place Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 in the RHS Library. The topics will be “Getting the most out of the URL or you may end up in Albany, GA instead of Albany, NY [aka Web addresses]” and “Who was Boole and what was he operating [aka Writing a search query using Boolean operators and syntax]?”. The entire Roosevelt community is invited.
