Holly Berry Concert Hey Rough Riders, get in the holiday spirit with some great music from our award-winning Bands and Orchestras. This Thursday night at 7:30 in the Roosevelt Performing Arts Theatre, our Music Department will present the annual Holly Berry Concert! REGISTER FOR SECOND SEMESTER EVENING SCHOOL

Do you need to retrieve credit in an academic class required for graduation or take a required class that you missed out on and cannot now take at Roosevelt? If so, see your counselor ASAP to register for evening school. Classes start February 7. But do not wait to sign up, because classes do fill up. Students can take up to two classes, $60/class, with each class meeting twice/week for two hours in the afternoon and early evenings. Evening school is held at the old Lincoln High School site in Wallingford. W. Krakauer

College Goal Sunday is a free, on-site program that helps students and families complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), the form that is required to apply for federal financial assistance for higher education. The fourth annual College Goal Sunday Washington takes place throughout January and February at multiple locations across Washington State. Students receive step-by-step instructions for completing and submitting their FAFSA.

Bezos Scholars Program at the Aspen Institute is now accepting applications for 2011. This is a seven-day, all-expense-paid Scholarship For Public High School students and educators. Past Bezos Scholars met with retired Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, Secretaries of Education Arne Duncan and Margaret Spellings, among many others. Application Deadline: Feb. 11, 2011. World Learning and the World Affairs Council in Seattle are partnering to recruit host families for 7 Brazilian teenagers between the ages of 15 and 18 from January 12— 24, 2011. The students, who speak English fluently, have been selected by the U.S. Embassy in Brazil from a pool of thousands to become ambassadors for their country. Teens in Public Service is now hiring for the 2011 Summer Internship program. “TIPS” Interns work to provide

affordable housing and services to the homeless, tutor at-risk youth, gain hands-on experience in the medial science and environmenmtal fields, and provide cultural enrichment and educational opportunities to children and families.
