Prepare for the SAT!

SAT Prep, Inc., offers an excellent opportunity for students to prepare for the SAT. This SAT Prep Course is offered to students again this school year at Nathan Hale and Roosevelt High Schools. Analytical tools for mathematical concepts, problem solving, critical reading, and vocabulary are taught. Essay writing, grammar, geometry and algebra topics are included in the course. The course is designed to decrease test anxiety and familiarize students with test directions, types of questions, and test-taking strategies. For more information about dates, times, locations and costs of the course, download the SAT Prep Flyer.

New!!! PTSA Email and Directory Opt In Form

Do you want to:
1. stay in touch with what's happening at RHS via email several times a week?
2. get important information about what is going on with your student's class?
3. receive the Rider Record newsletter via email to help save paper and reduce costs?
4. be included in the RHS Directory?

It's simple. Just complete the new RHS PTSA Email & Directory Online Opt In Form online under the Parents tab and you're all set. If you received PTSA Emails Bulletins last year from Sue Wong, you’ll need to opt in this year so we’ll have the most up to date information for you. If you have any problems opting in, please contact Susie Petersen at psufan56@comcast.net, our PTSA Email Coordinator or click on Contact Webmaster in the left hand column and send us an email.

Interested in Being More Involved This Year?

Roosevelt has many wonderful programs that just would not run without the time, energy and resources of parents, guardians and other volunteers. We have several Board positions and Committee positions that we need to fill now. Some of these are once/twice a month commitments, others are a one-time, short-term commitment while still others are ongoing, monthly commitments.

Check the 2008 - 2009 PTSA Roster for open positions. The PTSA Job Descriptions document will provide you with more details on some of these positions. If you have more questions, please contact a current PTSA Board or Committee member listed on the PTSA page.

So what are the benefits? You get to be in the know early on about issues and events at our school. You get to meet and know more of the staff and teachers. You get to work with other parents you might never meet any other way. The work can be really gratifying and when you volunteer for the PTSA, your efforts help every parent and student in the school.
