Class of 2012 Senior Events

Tickets for Prom, Senior Luncheon and SPREE will be sold during lunchtime on the following dates at the Concession Stand in the Commons:

Jan 10th & 12th
Feb 7th, 9th & 13th
March 6th, 8th & 13th
April 10th, 11th & 12th

Tickets sold on May 1st & 2nd will be at a higher price.

Please note: these events require completed registration forms. You should have recently received a letter in the mail with information about these events and copies of the forms; we also have links for each of the forms below.

Your student(s) should bring completed forms and a check payable to "RHS PTSA Class of 2012" to the Concession Stand during lunchtime on one of the dates listed above.

Bus assignments for SPREE are on a "First Come First Served" basis, so students may want to coordinate with their friends to sign up at the same time to be on the same bus. The earlier students sign up, the better chance they have of being on the bus with their friends.

Scholarships for all of these events are available through the counseling office; students should contact Wendy Krakauer.

Yearbook - Senior Grad Ads

One way to honor your graduating senior and submit your own, personal favorite photo is to purchase space for a Senior Grad Ad.

It's time to find those cute baby pictures and write those timeless graduation wishes for the yearbook. The yearbook is accepting your Grad Ads now through January. Download the Grad Ad order form or get one from the RHS Main Office and send it to Janine Magidman.

Guaranteed space for ads placed by January 30, 2012. After that, ads accepted on a space-available basis no later than the end of February 2012.

Graduation Ticket Information

The school will mail information about ordering graduation tickets later in the spring.

Senior Prom - Saturday, May 19th

Senior Prom, Sat., May 19th, Columbia Tower Club, 701 5th Ave. #7500, (5th & Columbia, 75th floor).

Formal Attire Dance for Seniors (underclassmen may attend at the invitation of a senior). Dancing, music, and photos (extra cost). Parking: Park on the street or in Columbia Tower Club parking lot.

Cost: $40 per person

Senior Awards Night - Wednesday, May 30th

Senior Awards Night, May 30th, 7:00 p.m. in the Roosevelt Theatre

Honoring students who have won scholarships and school based awards

Caps and Gowns Available for Pickup - Tuesday, June 12th

Caps and Gowns available for pickup during both lunch periods next to the Green & Gold Exchange (student store).

Last Day of School/Senior Checkout - Friday, June 15th

All graduating seniors need to go through the "senior check-out" process before leaving school on the last "senior" day. Students must receive signatures from all teachers and clear all outstanding fines, fees and debts before Ms. Poulias will sign the release form. The student’s counselor will then be the final stop and final signature. Questions? The graduation letter to be mailed in mid-May will have more information on this.

Graduation Rehearsal - Monday, June 18th

Graduation Rehearsal, RHS Gym, Monday, June 18th, 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the main gym

Attendance by every graduating senior is mandatory, as you will receive final seating instructions at that time. For questions, contact Melissa Boswell, RHS Activity Director, 252-4810.

PTSA-Sponsored Senior Luncheon - Monday, June 18th

Senior Luncheon, Monday, June 18th, Mountaineers Club, Magnusson Park

This normally occurs following morning graduation practice, includes the luncheon, entertainment, and slide show presentation. Students are transported by yellow school buses directly from graduation practice in the gym.

Cost: $10

Graduation - Tuesday, June 19th

Graduation, Tuesday, June 19th, 5:00 PM, Memorial Stadium, Seattle Center.

A letter with graduation-related instructions and admission tickets will be mailed to all graduating seniors in early May. Contact: Melissa Boswell at mrboswell@seattleschools.org, 252-4810, for more information.

Parent-Sponsored SPREE - Tuesday, June 19th - 20th

Senior Party "SPREE", Tuesday, June 19th, following graduation, 10 p.m. - 6 a.m.

An all-night, substance-free party immediately following graduation with music, dancing, entertainment, games and food. Buses return graduates to RHS the next morning around 6 a.m.

Note: A release form needs to be completed by parent/guardian of student less than 18 years old. Check with your counselor for scholarship information.

Cost: $85.00 per person

What is Class Fundraising?

Why do we have Class Fundraising at RHS?
As you will see, these graduation-related activities at RHS - Senior Luncheon, Graduation, Senior Awards, Senior Prom and Senior Spree are all designed to make Senior year a memorable one. These activities are expensive and the cost continues to increase each year. By raising money each year, it increases the possibility that all students who want to attend the senior functions will be able to do so.

There is still time to donate, as funds are needed to help provide scholarships and subsidize the cost of the events, so that every student can attend.

Senior Class of 2012 Parent Involvement Needed

If you would like to be involved in the many events hosted by the PTSA supporting your seniors this year, please contact one of the Class of 2011 Parent Reps. We greatly appreciate and welcome your help.

Because the quickest and least expensive way for us to communicate is via email, we have established an email account for communications regarding Class of 2012 senior events. This is an account that will only be used to communicate deadlines and information regarding senior events. Only Class Parent Volunteers will have access to this account. Please send the following information to (RHS2012seniors@gmail.com) so we can add your family to the database for senior event communications:

PLEASE NOTE: even if you have "opted-in" to the PTSA email list (which we encourage you to do!), we need your participation on this list. We would like to have 100% participation by our senior families to ensure everyone has the information they need.
