Class of 2014 Fundraising
Welcome Class of 2014 Families!
During the spring of senior year, there are many graduation-related activities at RHS including Senior Luncheon, Graduation, Senior Awards, Senior Prom and Senior Spree (following graduation). These activities are expensive and the cost continues to increase each year. By raising money each year, it increases the possibility that all students who want to attend the senior functions will be able to do so. All monies raised will directly help lower the cost per student and to offer scholarships when needed.
For more details about senior events, visit the Class Fundraising page.

Class of 2014 Fundraising Activities
The students in the class of 2014 have been raising funds and will continue to raise funds throughout their four years at RHS through various student coordinated activities.
Additionally, the 2014 Parent Rep group will be coordinating the following fundraising activities:
- Direct donation campaign
- Annual vintage prom and dance attire sale
- eScrip
- Annual adults-only party with special topic guest speakers
Countdown to 2014 - Donations
Each class at Roosevelt is responsible for raising money to help pay for their senior end-of-year activities including:
- Prom
- the senior luncheon
- graduation (non-facility costs such as programs)
- Spree (a PTSA sponsored all-night post-graduation activity in a safe and supervised environment)
For example, the prom costs about $25,000 and Spree costs about $26,000. Fundraising helps lower the cost of what students have to pay. For prom, students were charged $45 (the actual cost was about $69 per student) in 2011. For Spree, students were charged $89 (the actual cost was $130 per student) in 2011. Fundraising also helps provide scholarships for students who otherwise wouldn't be able to take part in senior class events.
Here's what other classes have done in the past…
Each family makes a fundraising pledge (suggested minimum donation of $50) for each of the three remaining years before their children graduate from Roosevelt. (Families may also choose to donate the entire pledge at one time.) If you wish to donate, print out the attached form and send it in today!
How else can I support the class of 2014?
Take part in special fundraising events, such as parents-only cocktail parties and the first annual RHS Sale of gently used Tolot and prom dresses, fancy shoes, and accessories, and men's coats and shoes. Keep an eye on your email and the Rider Record for updates and information.

In addition to the many delicious appetizers and desserts served, Phil Johnson, the Director of Test Programs for University Tutoring, addressed how students can prepare to take the ACT and SAT college admissions tests and how to choose the appropriate test for your student.
