Seniors: We need you to SHARE your Senior Projects the evening of March 8th at our first Senior Project Showcase. All projects are welcome and it is a great opportunity for you to complete the SHARE portion of your project and demonstrate to a larger group your new learning. See Ms. Schwentor for details.
For the short film enthusiasts, we will be hosting a Short Film Festival on Friday March 9th right after school in the theater. Anyone interested in participating, see Ms. Schwentor.
Seattle Public School Skills Center Are you interested in Cisco/Microsoft Information Technology, Aerospace Science and Technology, Digital Animation/Game Design, or Medical Careers? The Seattle Public Schools will be starting a Skills Center this Fall 2012, featuring these programs. Looking for Paid Employment?
The Ecology youth Corps is looking for youth ages 14-17 to work four weeks this summer, earning $9.04/hour, mostly picking up litter on state highways and in state parks, but also doing some educational activities, and working on recycling. Applications are available in the Counseling Office (see Ms. Johnson). (Applications and references must be RECEIVED by 4/10/12).
Additionally, Barista Program Open Houses will be happening ongoing on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month from now on at the Orion Center, 1828 Yale Avenue. To be eligible, youth must be ages 16-24, homeless or in unstable housing, and be legal to work in the U.S. A flyer with more details is available in the Counseling Office. The eight week program hires students every five weeks, but students cannot apply unless they first attend an Open House.

SENIORS: Do You Want to Star in a Documentary AND Earn some $$?
Human Relations Media, a New York company, is looking for one-four high school seniors in Seattle to feature in a short documentary that will be aired in high schools all over the country, talking about your experiences applying for financial aid and/or scholarships for college. You will get to be on camera with national exposure, as well as earn $50.00 up to several hundred dollars, depending on the time commitment.
