ANNOUNCEMENTS
Roosevelt HS PTSA Board Meeting, 7-8:30 pm, in the RHS Library. All are welcome! Agenda.
Winter Toy Drive. Key Club and DECA are joining forces to host Roosevelt’s first Winter Toy Drive! Have your students deliver new toys or donations to the main office, library or counseling office from now until December 20th. Donations will go to the Seattle Children’s Home , a non-profit organization that responds to the mental-health needs of children and their families throughout Washington. Suggested toys include: markers, colored pencils, sports balls, easy puzzles, LEGO sets, clothing, socks and blankets.
Hollyberry Concert - Dec 20, 7:30pm, RHS Theater Come experience RHS tradition and support the musicians at RHS for an evening of great music -- featuring the three RHS orchestras and 2 bands. Celebrate the coming holidays with selections from Handel, Dvorak and many others, culminating at the end with a rendition of "Sleigh Ride" you won't forget!
Beauty & the Beast Auditions. Audition materials are available. The musical auditions are Dec. 11 & 12. All information and application form are at rooseveltdrama.org – look in newsfeed – scroll down to Musical Auditions. VK
Brazil Exchange Students. Host an exchange student from Brazil! January, 2013 – for 12 days. We need three more Roosevelt families. Contact Ms. Magidman in Room 239. Brazilian Exchange Student Flyer.
RHS Belize Trip for Spring Break Contact Mr. Pickard (Room 120) if your student is interested in travelling to Belize for Spring Break, 2013. See the Itenerary here.
RHS Class of 2013 Giftwrap Fundraiser. Barnes & Noble Northgate, Seniors will be wrapping gifts Dec 4, 11, 19 from 5-9pm and Dec 2 & 22 from 1-5pm. Gifts that have been purchased at the mall may be brought in for wrapping with all donations going to the Class of 2013. Parent and Senior student volunteers still needed to fill these shifts. Vintage Football Jerseys. The RHS Football team is selling vintage jerseys (green or white) available in many numbers. Do you want to own your son's jersey number, a favorite number from years past, or to wear at a reunion or game? Original, authentic jerseys in great shape, $20 each. Contact Cindy Bouldin to see if YOUR lucky number is available.
Band Booster Wreath Sale. Wreath pick up is Tuesday, December 4th at Hunter Farm Xmas Tree Stand on 35th Ave NE and NE 80th Street from 6:00pm-7:30. To order contact Wendy Treiger. Questions? 206-634-0773. And thanks for supporting the Band!

Service Learning Opportunities. Students, are you looking for places to do your service learning? Check the bulletin board by room #105 (Counseling Office). We post flyers and requests for students to help out with one-time events, as well as ongoing service learning opportunities. The bulletin board gets updated on a regular basis. We cannot list all the opportunities that come our way in the student bulletin, so be sure to check out the bulletin board for opportunities that you never hear read in the announcements. W. Krakauer
A Financial Aid Workshop will be held on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 7pm in the Library. Mrs. Megan Davis from the Financial Aid Office at the University of Washington will present and answer your questions. She will also cover the FAFSA. Students and parents are all welcome.
The RHS Scholarship Application and Scholarship Bulletin #3 is now online. It can also be accessed in the Connect Edu system.
The Sandra Lynn Cohen Academic Scholarship, which is only for Roosevelt Students who are graduating June 2013, is now online.

The SPS is now going to print one Scholarship Bulletin a month and provide it over the Connect edu system. Here at RHS we will continue to print one Scholarship Bulletin a month (mid-month) plus all local RHS scholarship information. Then once we know all the scholarships are included in the SPS editions, we will no longer need to print. This process may take a year. (Dr B)
3 Local Graduating Senior Scholarships are Still Available! Our students have won these in the past. They were/are advertised in the RHS Scholarship Bulletins. Students can request an Application in the Counseling Office. Take a copy home and work on it over the Holidays.

Class of 2013 Gift Wrap fundraiser Dec 4, 11, 19 from 5-9pm and Dec 2 & 22 from 1-5pm. One adult and at least two students needed per shift. We have broken this up into two hour increments as we know December is a very busy month, but if you would like to do more than one shift – it would be greatly appreciated! Senior Yearbook Grad Ads. It’s time to dig through those cute baby pictures of graduating seniors and composing messages for Grad Ads. Find the order form in the Main Office, outside of room 239, or online. New this year, pictures can be uploaded to www.hjeshare.com. Use the school code HJ07136 and send us your photos. Don’t let the upcoming holidays get in the way of creating this memory! Space guaranteed through December 21st. After that – on a space-available basis.
