RHS Annual Fund Reaches $76,000!
Big thanks to everyone who donated to the 2013 RHS Annual Fund! As of this morning at 8am we had reached over $76,000 - your contributions have helped us reach our goal of protecting one staff position in our school budget! Even though the initial school budget is ready for submission, your contributions will still be an enormous help for next year. The on-line donation link stays open all year so keep sending your contributions in – all donations will be used to fund staff positions!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
RHS Parents/Guardians of students receiving Special Education Service: Parent/Guardian Meeting, Monday, March 18, 7-9pm in the RHS Library. We are starting an informal group for RHS parents/guardians of students receiving special education services. The idea is to have a place where we can meet each other, get support, share ideas and resources, and discuss common issues and concerns. All interested parents/guardians are welcome. Contact: Peggy Peterson at pegpete56@yahoo.com, RHS PTSA Special Education Liaison.
College Information Night for Juniors and their Parents/Guardians: Tuesday, March 20 at 7pm in the RHS Theater. Counselors Wendy Krakauer and Sarah Chapman will be hosting a college information night for juniors and their parents/guardians. The focus will be on four year colleges, and the agenda will include information about searching for colleges that are a good fit, college admissions requirements, SAT and ACT college entrance exams, and the college application process. There will also be a panel of seniors sharing the wisdom of what they have learned about their college search and application process. We would love both student and parent/guardian to attend, but student only or parent/guardian only is fine too. Call the counseling office at 252-4827 if you have questions about this very practical workshop.

Senior Awards Night Volunteer Lead Needed.
Senior Awards Night is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29. It is a Roosevelt tradition for parents of juniors to work with Dr. Beaston to help make the evening special with decorations and refreshments. There is already a list of willing volunteers to help, but we are looking for a coordinator. Last year's Lead is available to offer advice and a resource file, and there is some money available from the PTSA to support the event. If you would like to help coordinate this event, please contact Dr. Beaston ASAP at lbeaston@seattleschools.org Thank you!
Diversity Week Fundraising – See Your Impact. The campaign runs through the month of March. As a part of the Diversity Week events, we partnered up with See Your Impact.org to move beyond the food and dance. This amazing organization worked with students to choose three local and three global charities to raise awareness and funds. Please check out roosevelt.seeyourimpact.org for more information about homelessness here in Seattle, healthy gardens for families in Olympia, WA and Rwanda as well as much needed medical attention and education access for students in India and the Dominica Republic. We are reaching out to students, parent and the greater community to help support our chosen causes.
