ANNOUNCEMENTS
June 4-6 Schedule: There are several, end of year events that are impacting our schedule. Please review this schedule. On June 4, we will be recognizing our seniors and "moving up" our underclass students in our Moving Up Assembly. After the assembly there is a long lunch/bbq and a series of fun activities for students. On June 5th and June 6th, some of our students are taking State mandated end of course (EOC) exams for Algebra, Geometry and Biology. Only students taking exams on those days will need to report at our normal times. All other students are late arrival. Please contact the main office with any questions.
RHS Special Education Parents/Guardians: Come join us for our last of the school year Parent Meeting. Thursday, June 6, 7-9pm in the RHS Library. We've had some great conversations and sharing of ideas. All are welcome. Hope you can join us! (Heads up, I've been warned that parking may be a challenge.) If you have questions about the meeting, contact Peggy Peterson, pegpete56@yahoo.com.
Rider Day Coordinator Co-Chair needed for Fall 2013! Sept. 3, 2013 – the day before school starts – is Rider Day: students come to pick up schedules, purchase ASB cards, get ID photos taken, pick up bus passes, etc. Coordinator works with Asst. Principal Juan Price and Student Activities Coordinator Melissa Boswell to ensure volunteers are in place on that morning (usually two shifts). Requires 5-10 hours in August to recruit and assign 20-30 volunteers to pre-established stations and - ideally - provide oversight the morning of Rider Day itself to make adjustments as needed. Rider Day is one of the most fun events to support as all students come through the building. If interested in serving as a co-Chair with Sharon Rodgers this coming year, please contact her at rooseveltptsa.pres@gmail.com.
PTSA NEWS
PTSA Volunteer Coordinator needed for next year: After 2+ years it’s time for me to pass the baton to a new Volunteer Coordinator. As Coordinator you'll help support Roosevelt programs, by supplying event leads with volunteer lists from our online Volunteer Database. Minimal knowledge of Excel, good organizational skills, and the ability to send/answer email inquiries is all that's needed for this position. Most work can be done from your home computer on a flexible timeframe that suits your schedule. (Find more details on PTSA website at http://www.rhsseattle.org/ptsaVolunteer.php) I will provide a short training and file of reference samples. It would be great to identify a new Volunteer Coordinator before Sept. for a smooth transition. Like to volunteer and want to find out more? Please contact Pat Johnson at patdjohnson@comcast.net or 206-850-5509 cell.
