COUNSELING & CAREER CENTER NEWS

The RHS Scholarship Application and Scholarship Bulletin #3 is now online. It can also be accessed in the Connect Edu system.

Service Learning Opportunities. Students, are you looking for places to do your service learning? Check the bulletin board by room #105 (Counseling Office). We post flyers and requests for students to help out with one-time events, as well as ongoing service learning opportunities. The bulletin board gets updated on a regular basis. We cannot list all the opportunities that come our way in the student bulletin, so be sure to check out the bulletin board for opportunities that you never hear read in the announcements. W. Krakauer

SENIORS

Seniors, Are You On Track With Letters of Recommendation for College Applications? Have you met with your counselor and have you gotten to your counselor and teachers all information needed so they can complete secondary school report and recommendation letters in a timely manner? If your application due date is in early January, keep in mind that we do not return to school until Jan 7, 2013. Since your counselor/teachers will not want to spend their holiday break working on your recommendations,it is in your best interest to make sure you have gotten to them necessary paperwork NO LATER THAN 12/14/12. Taking care of it sooner than that is even better. If you have any questions, you should talk to your counselor and to teachers who are working on your recommendations. And talk to them ASAP. W. Krakauer

Time to focus on the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) You may begin to file the FAFSA on Jan 1, 2013. You will need a PIN if you do not have one to begin this process. If you are interested in information given at the Financial Aid Workshop on Dec 4 at RHS, a few brochures are still available. Come and get a copy in the counseling office. See FAFSA deadlines here. Dr. Beaston
