ANNOUNCEMENTS
RHS PTSA Forum: Teens, Marijuana & Alcohol Thu, Jan 17 at 7pm at Roosevelt High School. Since initiative 1- 502 was approved, parents have been asking what they should be saying to their children about the law and about marijuana. In response, Roosevelt High School PTSA and Nathan Hale High School will host parent education nights in January: “Teens, Marijuana & Alcohol: Setting the Framework for Healthy Communication.” Both will feature Kevin Haggerty from the University of Washington Social Development Research. (This program will also be presented Tue, Jan 15, 7pm at Nathan Hale). Read flyer and see page 4 of the December Rider Record.
Please donate formal and business clothing! Cleaning out closets? Please hold on to any items you’d be willing to donate for the 2nd Annual Dress to Impress Sale coming March! We’re seeking gently worn "vintage" women’s long or short dresses, skirts, tops, jackets, purses, pumps, jewelry, and men’s jackets, slacks, shirts, ties and dress shoes. (All donations are tax deductible and proceeds go to benefit the RHS Class of 2014 Graduation Fund.) Watch for donation and sale details in coming in January. Thanks so much!
Volunteers Needed for Jan 16, 2013 "College Goal" Event. Roosevelt will be hosting a FAFSA workshop at Roosevelt from 6pm – 8pm. We are just one of many sites all over the state participating in “College Goal Sunday Washington”. This workshop will be an opportunity for students/parents and guardians to sit down with an expert and actually complete the FAFSA online. Although other schools in the district have hosted in prior years, this is our first time. And to help make the event successful, we need volunteers! RSVP to volunteer or attend.
Congratulations Ms. MacDonald - RHS Latin Teacher Wins National Award!
